Kevin F. Adler
Kevin F. Adler, BetterGrads' Executive Director and Founder—a graduate student, nonprofit director, public servant, and social entrepreneur—is committed to improving the educational and career opportunities for America’s youth.
Kevin is the Community Manager at nuResume, an online network for students to achieve career success. In 2009, Kevin completed his Master of Philosophy degree in Sociology at the University of Cambridge. His dissertation on the health and vibrancy of community life following a natural disaster was awarded top honors of “distinction.”
Prior to Cambridge, Kevin attended Occidental College, where he was the Benjamin H. Culley Award recipient (outstanding graduating senior), Theodore R. Mitchell Endowed Scholar, Jane Jaquette Service Award recipient, the 2007 Student of the Year in the Politics Department, and the 2006 National Student Diplomat Essay Competition Award winner.
While at Occidental, Kevin was involved in education as a researcher, mentor, and entrepreneur. Kevin conducted a comprehensive assessment of Career Technical Education programs in Los Angeles County public high schools as an intern at the California Community Foundation. Kevin also served as a big brother to “at risk” middle school students and started a reading program for students at a local elementary school with 95% reduced price lunch.
And two weeks before graduating from Oxy, while sitting in church, Kevin scribbled down his ideas for a “College 101” mentoring program that formed the concept for BetterGrads.
