James Tacker

James Tacker, better known as "Jamie" to his friends, is BetterGrads’ Video Producer and co-Founder. He graduated from San Francisco State University in 2008 with a Bachelor's degree in Cinema Production and a minor in Business Management. He is currently pursuing a Master's degree with a focus in Multimedia/New Media Art. Jamie's artistic pursuits stem from his parents' love for music, theater, and writing. His goal at BetterGrads is to present a new and engaging way for students to think about college, as well as inspire and impart a sense of creativity.

During his time at SF State, Jamie created numerous pieces of art: from web images and print documents to short films. He has served as a Production Coordinator for the Myx television channel (ABS-CBNi), a freelance photographer, a staff writer for a start-up television station, while remaining deeply involved in his community through Circle K—a local, service-based organization.

As a lifelong close friend of Kevin Adler, Jamie has been involved with BetterGrads since the very beginning.
