The BetterGrads Starter Kit helps you start the BetterGrads Program at your high school.

Our pilot BetterGrads College 101 Program began at Granada High School and extends to other San Francisco Bay Area high schools listed on our Pilot Programs page. Look for your school!

But with more then 25,000 public high schools in the US, we definitely need your help to track them all down and start new programs!

If you have any questions about starting a BetterGrads program at your high school, or if you’re a high school alumni looking to reconnect with your alma mater, please feel free to contact us.

How Do I Start?

After browsing the BetterGrads Starter Kit, here are a few ways you can start today:

  1. “College 101″

Browse our archives of hundreds of real stories by real high school students, college students, alumni and others who promote college-going culture.

  2. Ask to Be Mentored!

We can’t reach out to every school individually! If you would like to become a BetterGrads mentee, we can help connect you with students, alumni and other professionals willing to answer your questions based on their experience.

  3. Start a College Prep Club at Your School

If we aren’t active at your high school, you can start your own BetterGrads program! Speak with your classmates, teachers, counselors and contact us for specific questions.

  4. Be a Mentor

Alumni mentors provide personalized, up-to-date assistance to high schools who are facing decisions about college. If you would like to help a high schooler–especially from your alma mater–please visit our Become a Mentor page.

  5. Submit a “College 101″ Story!

Our “College 101″ archive is rich with personal stories, advice and other useful information about college. If you have something special to share, please use our submission form.

  6. Sponsorships & Partnerships

During the school year, mentors and mentees practice a curriculum based on the BetterGrads Program Overview. These topics relate to college, academics, career and personal development and are specifically tailored to the students best interest–by the students themselves.

We offer local employers, companies, community organizations and alumni the opportunity to sponsor a month’s topic and activity. Sponsorships can take many forms, such as reviewing a student’s college application or offering your expertise to co-brand on the BetterGrads curriculum.

Please contact us for more information on how to set-up a win-win sponsorship with us to promote education and social good.
